This article explains how each works, what they capture, and when to use them. *** ## Presentation & Screen Share Recording Scoot's built-in recording feature lets hosts capture live presentations and group screen shares in real time. This produces a traditional video recording of the session, including both visual content and audio. ### Who Can Record Only **hosts** can initiate and stop a recording. Attendees and participants do not have access to the recording controls. ### What Gets Recorded * The **screen share** from the host or other presenters * The **audience audio stream**, which depends on which audience audio setting is active during the presentation > **Note:** The recording captures the shared screen and the audio stream as a single output. It does not separately record individual participant audio tracks or video feeds. ### How to Record 1. **Start a presentation or group screen share** in a Room. 2. Click the **"Record presentation"** button in the presentation controls toolbar. 3. The system begins capturing immediately. 4. When finished, click **"Stop Recording"**. ### Accessing Your Recordings Once processing is complete, recordings are available at [https://us.scoot.app/recordings](https://us.scoot.app/recordings). From there you can: * **Download** any of your recordings * **Delete** recordings you no longer need ### Best For * Capturing keynotes, all-hands presentations, and panel discussions * Creating on-demand content from live sessions * Sharing presentation replays with attendees who couldn't join live *** ## Deep Journey: AI-Powered Conversation Intelligence Deep Journey is Scoot's AI-powered conversation intelligence system. Unlike Presentation Recording, which captures video, Deep Journey automatically **records, transcribes, and analyzes every conversation that happens in Mingle Mode** across your Scoot sessions. It transforms unstructured networking and small-group conversations into searchable, structured insights. ### How It Works When attendees enter **Mingle Mode** in a Scoot session, the platform captures four types of data: | Data Type | What It Captures | | ----------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | **Conversational data** | Full audio transcriptions of every Mingle Mode conversation, including who said what | | **Behavioral data** | How participants moved through the space, who they talked to, and for how long | | **Engagement data** | Participation levels, interaction patterns, and session activity | | **Technographic data** | Device and platform information about attendees | ### What You Get: Meeting Summaries Deep Journey produces two types of AI-generated meeting summaries after every session: ### Host Meeting Summary Available to the event host, this includes: * **General Meeting Summary** -- an AI-generated overview of what was discussed across the entire session * **Meeting Keywords** -- auto-detected topics (e.g., Goal Setting, Activity Planning, Revenue Goals) * **Meeting Attendance** -- total attendee count with an attendance timeline * **Companies Represented** -- a breakdown of organizations and attendee counts * **Participation Metrics** -- desktop vs. mobile usage split * **Assets** -- downloadable files shared during the event (PDFs, spreadsheets, etc.) * **Scoot Meeting Timeline** -- a chronological log of every conversation in every room, searchable by Company, Attendee Name, or Job Title * **Conversation Transcripts** -- expandable details for each conversation showing participants, duration, topics discussed, and per-person summaries of what each individual contributed ### Personal Meeting Summary Available to each individual attendee, this includes: * **People to Connect With** -- a list of key participants you interacted with, including name, job title, and company * **Meeting Keywords** -- topics from your specific conversations * **Asset Downloads** -- files shared during the event (presentations, documents, spreadsheets) * **Your Meeting Timeline** -- a personal chronological journey showing every conversation and icebreaker you participated in, with timestamps, other participants, and topic tags ### Deep Journey AI Chat Beyond summaries, Deep Journey includes an **AI-powered chat interface** that lets hosts query their conversation data conversationally. Manual recording is only required for Presentation and Group Screen Share sessions. **Can attendees see what other people discussed in conversations they weren't part of?** No. Attendees receive a **Personal Meeting Summary** that only shows the conversations they participated in. Only hosts have access to the full Host Meeting Summary with all conversations across the event. **Can I use Deep Journey to analyze conversations across multiple events?** Yes. The Deep Journey AI chat lets you query across multiple sessions and filter by date range, making it ideal for tracking trends like customer sentiment or product feedback over time. **Where do I find my Presentation Recordings vs. my Meeting Summaries?** Presentation Recordings are available under the **Recordings** section. Meeting Summaries and Deep Journey insights are available under the **Events**, **Sessions**, and **Deep Journey** sections of the Scoot dashboard. **What if I want both a video recording and conversation transcripts from the same event?** You can use both features in the same session. Record your Presentation for a video capture, and Deep Journey will automatically handle the Mingle Mode portions. The two systems are complementary.
