## 1. Platform Overview

**What is Scoot?**

Scoot is a browser-based virtual meeting and event platform that allows participants to move freely around a virtual space, engage in dynamic group conversations, and experience presentations and webinars with natural interactivity. Scoot combines the social feel of in-person networking with the scalability of online events.

**Do I need to download anything?**

No. Scoot runs entirely in modern web browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari). There is **no desktop app** required, and no plug-ins or downloads. Mobile support is available for participants, though hosts and presenters should use desktop browsers for the best experience.

**How does Scoot differ from traditional webinar or meeting tools?**

Scoot focuses on *movement, connection, and engagement.* Instead of static tiles, attendees navigate a virtual “room” by joining and leaving conversations naturally. Features like **Smart Badging**, **Stage Magic**, and **AI meeting summaries** create a uniquely interactive and intelligent meeting experience.

## 2. Architecture and Infrastructure

**What technologies power Scoot?**

Scoot’s platform runs on a modern, scalable web stack with real-time communication powered by servers for audio/video routing, and **WebRTC** for peer-to-peer connections.

**Is Scoot cloud-hosted?**

Yes. Scoot is hosted on **Amazon Web Services (AWS)**, leveraging secure, redundant global infrastructure. All meeting data, recordings, and summaries are processed through AWS components and are encrypted.

**Does Scoot support enterprise-grade security?**

Yes. Scoot has completed its **SOC 2** **security assessment**, and all data handling aligns with best practices for encryption, access control, and compliance.

**Can Scoot integrate with SSO or company directories?**

Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations are in development as part of the **Scoot Admin Panel**.

## 3. Audio, Video, and Performance

**How does Scoot handle large events?**

Scoot is optimized for scalability, including **webinar-scale sessions** with hundreds or even thousands of attendees. Presentation and audience modes adjust dynamically to reduce video/audio subscriptions and network load. Hosts can also manage performance with **audience interactivity controls**.

**What if someone’s video or audio is lagging?**

Scoot automatically monitors network health and provides visual indicators. The system can adjust bitrates and manage reconnections.

**Does Scoot record presentations automatically?**

Yes. Presentations can be set to **auto-record**, capturing both screen share and audio. Recordings are processed and available in the **Scoot Home → Reports** section once complete. Transcriptions and **AI-generated meeting summaries** are produced alongside the recordings.

## 4. Features and Functionality

**What is a Smart Badge?**

Smart Badges display attendee information like name, title, and company, plus optional custom data collected at registration. They power visibility filters, search, and teleport functionality. Smart Badge data also drives **visual indicators** in the room and post-event analytics.

**How do AI Meeting Summaries work?**

Scoot automatically generates summaries using advanced **LLM-based pipelines**, transcriptions, and structured metadata. Hosts and attendees can receive summaries via email (if toggled on in meeting settings). Summaries include conversation highlights, participation insights, and links to recordings.

**What is the Knowledge Base Bot (“Emily”)?**

“Emily” is Scoot’s in-room AI assistant, available to answer questions about the meeting, company, or product. She is powered by retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and can reference a connected **knowledge base** or uploaded files.

**What integrations are supported?**

Scoot currently integrates with **Vimeo**, **Google Calendar (ICS)**, and **email-based registration flows**. Upcoming integrations include:

* CRM and analytics connections for engagement tracking using Salesforce and HubSpot

## 6. AI and Automation

**What AI technologies does Scoot use?**

Scoot leverages multiple **large language models (LLMs)**, allowing custom pipelines for transcription, summarization, sentiment analysis, and conversational insights. Different models are used for distinct tasks to maximize accuracy and cost efficiency.

**How does Scoot ensure AI accuracy?**

Summaries and insights use **multi-model verification** and **structured prompt recipes**, ensuring context is retained and hallucination minimized. All AI data is processed securely through managed endpoints.

**Can companies integrate their own AI agents into Scoot?**

Yes. Scoot is developing **Apex Agent integrations**, which let partner companies bring their AI sales agents into Scoot meetings to interact with attendees. The **Apex Agent Platform** will include APIs and permissions for agent behavior and context sharing.

## 7. Security, Privacy, and Compliance

**How does Scoot protect meeting data?**

* Encrypted data transmission via TLS

**Where are recordings and transcripts stored?**

All recordings, transcriptions, and AI summaries are securely stored in AWS-managed S3 buckets. Only event hosts and authorized admins have access.

**Does Scoot comply with GDPR and CCPA?**

Yes. Scoot respects all data privacy rights and supports deletion and export upon request. User data is never sold or shared with third parties.
