# Live Advisor Anywhere

> Run a Live Advisor alongside a meeting on another platform or a desktop dialer.

Live Advisor Anywhere brings Live Advisor coaching to meetings that are not in Scoot, such as a video call on another platform or a call from a desktop dialer. It runs in a small overlay window from the Scoot desktop app.

## Before you start

Live Advisor Anywhere needs the Scoot desktop app for macOS or Windows, because the advisor listens to the meeting audio on your computer.

If you click **Launch** in a browser, Scoot shows one of two dialogs:

* **Desktop app required**: click **Download for macOS** or **Download for Windows**, install the app, and sign in. The **Live Advisor Anywhere** card is then available in the app.
* **Open the Scoot desktop app?**: click **Open desktop app** to continue in the app, or **Download the app** if you do not have it yet.

## Start a session

1. In the Scoot desktop app, go to **Home**.
2. On the **Live Advisor Anywhere** card, click **Launch**.
3. In **Launch a Live Advisor**, enter a **Meeting name**.
4. Under **Live Advisor**, choose the advisor you want.
5. Decide whether to turn on **Record this meeting**. Scoot asks every time.
   * On: the meeting is transcribed and summarized. You can change this from the overlay once the session starts.
   * Off: the advisor still coaches you live, but nothing is kept afterwards.
6. Tell everyone in the meeting that AI assistance is in use, and that the meeting is recorded if you turned recording on. Click **Copy participant notice** to copy a message you can paste into the meeting chat.
7. Check the confirmation box, then click **Launch**.

If the **Live Advisor** list is empty, the dialog shows "No advisors are set up for live coaching yet." Contact your Scoot admin.

> Some states and countries require consent from everyone on the call. You are responsible for telling participants before you start.

## Use the overlay

* The **Advisor** panel shows suggestions as the conversation happens. Lines are labeled **You** and **Them**.

* Type a question in **Ask the advisor…** and click **Send** to ask the advisor directly.

* Use the screen-share control to choose whether the overlay shows up when you share your screen. The overlay says **Visible in screen share** when others can see it.

* Click **Stop session** when the meeting ends. To coach another call, click **New session**.
