# The Brain

> Ask questions across your meetings and company knowledge, and connect The Brain to the AI assistant you already use.

The Brain is Scoot's AI that knows your meetings and your company's knowledge. Ask it to prep you for a call, debrief a past meeting, or find what was decided and who owes what.

## Open The Brain

In the top navigation, open **The Brain** and select **Chat with The Brain**. Depending on your account, the menu may be named **Meeting Insights** instead.

## Ask a question

1. Type your question in **Ask the Brain anything…**, or click a suggestion:
   * **Prep for a meeting**: who you are meeting, what happened last time, and what to bring up.
   * **Debrief a meeting**: what happened, what was decided, and what you owe people.
2. To ask by voice, click **Voice input** and speak. Click again to finish, or press Esc to cancel. Use **Choose microphone** to switch microphones.
3. Press Enter or click **Send message**.
4. To ask about more of the conversation, type in **Ask a follow-up…**.

Numbered sources in a reply link to the meetings or documents the answer came from.

### Limit the time range

Use the lookback pill in the question box to choose which meetings The Brain searches: **Last 30 days**, **Last 3 months**, **Last 12 months**, or **All time**. Select **Narrow to specific meetings…** to pick individual meetings.

### Manage conversations

* Click **New conversation** to start fresh.
* Past conversations are listed on the left. Click **Show conversations** if the list is hidden.
* Use **Copy reply** to copy an answer, and **Good response** or **Bad response** to rate it.

## Connect The Brain to your AI assistant

The Brain provides an MCP server, so AI assistants that support MCP (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or Gemini) can read your meetings and company knowledge with the same access you have.

1. On the Chat with The Brain page, click **Connect to your AI of choice**.
2. In your AI tool, open its connectors or integrations settings and add a custom MCP server.
3. In Scoot, click **Copy** to copy the server URL, then paste it into your AI tool.
4. Sign in with your Scoot account when your AI tool prompts you.
